Who I am
I'm Jake, an 18-year-old aspiring software developer with a passion for programming and video games! Having finished my studies at Godalming College in June 2025, I am now a first year student at Portsmouth University after taking a year out to develop my professional skillset working for Godalming College as an IT technician.
My Experience
My passion began in secondary school with Python programming in a new, first time run, computer science course. Combining A-Level Computer Science with a BTEC Level 3 IT qualification provided me hands on experience managing more complex projects operating within the scope of client requirements. I thrive on pushing my limits, never being one to back away from a challenge.
What I do in my freetime
I draw much of my software developer enthusiasm from popular gaming titles like No Man's Sky, Baldur's Gate 3, and RimWorld. These are games that redefine worldbuilding and intrigue me on their design complexities.
I am also passionate about tabletop gaming (D&D, Warhammer 40,000). Precision building and painting models translates well into my software development skillset with much precision and attention to detail required, as well as the pride I take in having created something beautiful!
